It’s a strange thing to say about a game that’s technically still in beta, but at this point you’ve probably already played Minecraft or you’re never going to. It’s impossible, in discussions about video games online, to avoid the super-independent and super-low-budget mining simulator. So a commercial might not do it much good, but it’s fun to look at. And when it’s as bizarre as “Diamonds,” it’s a real conversation starter. Check out the video after the click.

Even if you’re not familiar with Minecraft — and for the record, it’s a popular and independent low-fi bare-bones sandbox game that’s got rabid fans making an encyclopedia, a forum, and obviously videos — watching this guy accidentally burn his house down is quite entertaining.
